10月23日 A VIRTUAL WORLD This last 2 weeks I've been playing an online game where I have a little animated person under my control in an imaginary virtual world. In this game there are other animated persons being controlled by other people just like me, at home or in a cyber cafe or anywhere else for that matter. Now to people who are anti-computers and see games like the one I describe soon as a complete waste of time, I don't suppose they will really be open to seeing any benefits. However, I find that I am learning greetings in different languages, as the other controllers are from such a diverse range of countries and we try to communicate with each other via our animated people. I have improved my geography as I've been looking on maps to see where people I meet come from. Some of the people from other parts of the world have now linked up with me on social sites in the real world which is great. It's a far more interesting and fun way to learn other languages. We also have a range of expressions and actions that help us to communicate emotions in the game. The virtual world has other games and activities included within it and the currency has to be earned via work at a factory or playing the games, several of which you have to do with other people, therefore encouraging interaction. I have noticed that the majority of people are keen to help each other, out as many activities are about co-operation. I guess the game is a bit of a novelty for me at the moment and sometimes it can be so funny, but also it allows for people to re-create themselves, such as the person who's wheelchair bound in the real world but is able to be included equally without prejudice within this virtual world. THE CONQUEST OF HEROES---BOOK & MMO GAMEJust an up-date on the book....... it exists, but there's a bit of a delay before it becomes accessible to purchase. It will be well worth the wait believe me!!16/04/09
4月23日 ON-LINE SCI-FI GAME BEING DEVELOPEDI thought it was about time that I gave a bit of space on here to tell you about my son, Steven. He was born in the early 1980s at the time of space invaders, pac-man, frogger and other types of video and consort games in pubs/clubs. We used to have these machines in our home for checking the working order order of them after machine repairs, so it was only natural that Steven learned to press buttons and develop a fascination with gaming machines at an early age. Even as a baby he was pressing buttons and getting excited about the things that were happening on the screens, and in later life this led to him being knowledgeable and having good skills with computers aswell as on-line gaming.
As a child, Steven's favourite film was the Time Machine which he loved to watch so often that I to know all the words by heart myself, but I think the influence of this film and his perception of the ways that the world changed over time has continuously captured his imagination and led to an interest in sci-fi, time travel and extra sensory skills/perception. He always wanted to reach the whole world. So with a lot of life experience from then until now, Steven set up www.burningmanstudios.com and has been working on a global gaming project that has evolved from his passion and has brought together some very talented people with a shared vision, to develop The Conquest of Heroes. Please follow these links to find out more http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=601705105 and see what others have written about the game's development. http://feeds.feedburner.com/ConquestOfHeroesRadio 10月22日 INTERESTED IN SCI-FI & ON-LINE GAMING????New on-line sci-fi game being developed, check it out........www.ruthlessearth.org |
